How is the TEF evaluated?
The tests are evaluated using a 7 level scale, from level 0 (most basic abilities) to level 6 (complete mastery).
This scale refers to the 6 levels (A1 to C2) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe and the 12 Canadian (NCLC) / Quebec (EQNCF) language proficiency levels.
- Les épreuves de compréhension écrite, compréhension orale et lexique et structure sont sous the form of multiple choice questionnaires.
- The written expression test consists of the writing of two writings about everyday life. It is evaluated by two independent, trained and experienced correctors.
- The oral expression test consists of two role-playing games corresponding to everyday situations. It is evaluated by two independent examiners: the test leader, then by a second evaluator, based on the recording of the test.
How do I get my results?
Your results will be sent to the testing center within approximately 2 to 4 weeks from the date of receipt of the session materials.
Each certificate is detailed and personalized (with your photo and signature).
For each test, it specifies:
- the number of points obtained,
- the level reached,
- a description of your current skills in general French.
The results are valid for two years.. You can retake the test as many times as you wish, respecting a period of 30 days between each exam.
