Context

In 2018, during the consultation phase of the National Strategy for Inclusive Digital Technology, led by the Digital Society Mission at the request of the Government, several observations were made:

• Several tens of millions of French people are struggling with digital technology, some of whom are not autonomous in carrying out online procedures. This problem is still relevant since according to the 2023 report from CREDOC and CREAD, 31.5% of French people are struggling with digital technology.
• Professional carers who support users in an unsecured manner and who store users' identifiers and passwords in paper notebooks or in files.

The solution

Aidants Connect is a digital public service that allows professional caregivers to support users in carrying out their online procedures in a legal and secure manner. By creating a dematerialized legal mandate and securing the management of users' identifiers and passwords.

How does Aidants Connect work?

The journey of a user who is not independent with digital technology and who needs support in carrying out their online procedures:

• The user goes to a support center to get help with their online administrative procedures.
• Does the user have an account with one of the FranceConnect identity providers? If not, the caregiver helps them create one.
• The caregiver and the user define the scope of the procedures for which the user wishes to be supported.
• The caregiver validates the mandate with the user and gives them a signed paper version.
• With Aidants Connect, the caregiver carries out the process online on behalf of the user. Aidants Connect facilitates this support on all the process sites accessible via FranceConnect. All connections made are traced and stored.
