Valid for life, the Professional French Diploma International Relations was created on demand du Department of Foreign Affairs and International Development and theInternational organization of Francophonie. Cboth institutions support the use of the French language within international organizations and in international political and diplomatic exchanges.

 

This diploma was produced with the educational collaboration of the French Department of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.

It assesses the level achieved in written comprehension and expression as well as in oral comprehension and expression through the accomplishment of professional tasks specific to the field of international relations: articles, conventions, presentations, negotiations.

It meets the need for training and certification in professional French for diplomats, international civil servants and journalists, for whom French is often their first or second working language.

For who ?

This diploma is aimed in particular at executives of international or regional organizations who need to use French in their professional context; to national officials likely to have a role in the work of international or European institutions; to journalists.

Business French offers three Professional French Diplomas International relationships, from level B1 to C1 :

A diploma registered in the Inventory

All our diplomas have been registered in the Inventory of CNCP – National Commission for Professional Certification. It lists the certifications and authorizations corresponding to transversal skills exercised in a professional situation. To know more.

The registration of our Diplomas in the Inventory allows learners who follow training including the passing of this certification to benefit from financing from the Personal Training Account (CPF).

Level

The Professional French Diploma International Relations B1 validates competence in French at CEFR level B1.
It certifies basic competence in French at an independent level, which allows the user to understand and express themselves in everyday situations of social and professional life.
The holder of this diploma can carry out professional communication tasks, both orally and in writing, in a predictable context.

Skills assessed

Understanding and processing information:
The candidate can understand the essential elements of information documents (quantified data, short press articles, extracts from protocol guides, regulations, etc.) and internal (colleagues) and external (international partners) messages.
He/She can process or complete usual professional documents (data comments, press review, protocol event preparation sheet, job application form, country sheet, etc.) most common in relations professions. international.
The candidate can select elements provided to organize them in a given format, write simple formal emails requesting information or responding or confirming, in usual professional situations.
Interact orally:

The Professional French Diploma International Relations B2 validates competence in French at CEFR level B2.
It certifies independent-level French language proficiency, which allows the user to communicate effectively in a wide range of professional communication situations.
The holder of this diploma can carry out, orally and in writing, professional communication tasks, in all standard situations in their professional environment, including those which involve some management of the unexpected. .

 

Skills assessed

Understanding and processing information:
The candidate can understand important details of most professional international relations writings.
He/She is capable of extracting relevant information from professional documents (notes, emails, figures, action plans, procedures, instructions, etc.) to act effectively.
He/She can understand long, structured interventions or interactions and take notes to write reports, summaries, reports, etc.
Interact orally:
The candidate is able to present structured information on major international themes (diplomacy, education, health, culture, security, etc.), and to provide relevant arguments to convince their interlocutor or audience. He/She is capable of extracting all the information from a wide range of professional documents of all lengths (documentary file, specialized press article, diplomatic dispatch, conference, meeting, expert debate, etc.) with implicit meanings to act efficiently and flexibly.
He/She can understand long and structured interventions/interactions, complex technical information, take notes to write reports, summaries, reports, etc.
Interact orally:
